In this work, I explore an experiential approach to cognition through the interplay of materials and dynamic structures, aiming to break free from the reliance on fixed cognitive frameworks and intellectual habits. The goal is to prevent the experience of time from shifting from a continuous, profound flow into fragmented and isolated moments. This “fragmentation of time” limits our ability to engage deeply, leaving us adrift in superficial events.

To represent this, I employ stretched and twisted forms to symbolize the fragmentation of time and life experiences, while also metaphorically reflecting humanity’s “phototropic” pursuit of meaning. The work seeks to guide viewers back to the intuitive experiences of their senses and bodies, liberating them from the rigid cognitive coordinates imposed by societal structures and moral conventions. These coordinates, like maps, confine intellectual activity, while what truly matters is the profound release of individual human or animalistic experience.

This piece not only reflects on the fragmentation of time and cognition but also attempts to break free from fixed frameworks and reconstruct authentic experiences. It invites viewers to reflect, return to the interaction between self and object, and embrace experience as the foundation for understanding the world.
